Biography

Professor Anja Strangfeld

Professor Anja Strangfeld is Professor for Epidemiology and Health Services Research, a position jointly held at the Charité – University Medicine Berlin and the DRFZ. Within this role, Professor Strangfeld leads the epidemiology programme area at the DRFZ, which demonstrates the depth of her research on the epidemiology of rheumatic diseases. Furthermore, Professor Strangfeld has helped to establish several registries, including Rheumatoid Arthritis: Monitoring of Biologics Therapy (RABBIT), RABBIT-SpA and the Rhekiss pregnancy registry. Her research on the safety of treatments for rheumatic diseases has been instrumental in improving patient care.

Professor Strangfeld has also been actively involved in analysing data from German, European and global COVID-19 registries for patients with rheumatic diseases, helping to advance understanding of the infection and its impact on patient care in rheumatology.
